I'm In My Twenties!

Hola!

This past week I turned 20 which is so crazy!! I definitely don't feel that old haha. I had a fun birthday though and felt very loved! Sister Syme made me crepes for breakfast :)

Here's a cool story... last Monday evening at our FHE activity, we met this guy named Hadadi who came with one of his friends and he is so cool! He knows 6 languages and came to the United States to do medical school. We invited him to come to our Bible study the next day and he said he would try to make it. Then the next day we had our Bible study and a nonmember named Jordan came and afterwards we asked if he wanted to learn more about the church and meet with us and he said yes! Woohoo! We were a little bummed Hadadi didn't make it but at the very end he showed up!! Apparently his car broke down on the way so he had to figure that out but then he got an Uber so he could still come! We were amazed that he still came but he missed the whole Bible study. He wants to come to the next one though.

We also went on exchanges this week and I went to the Denver 1st ward with Hermana Platt! It's a Spanish area so I got to practice my español in 4 lessons! I loved it so much even though I couldn't understand every word they were saying. I was able to get the basic ideas and teach some stuff. Ah it just made me want to serve in a Spanish area so bad! I was only with the people for a short time but I already felt so much love for them. Hermana Platt is an AMAZING teacher and I learned a lot from her! The Denver 1st ward is actually where I had my first in person exchange on my mission so it was crazy to be back there!

So masks aren't really a thing in Colorado anymore which is super weird because we were all so used to it. I'm fully vaccinated now so I don't have to wear a mask. So it's pretty much back to normal! We don't have to social distance anymore either which has been so nice! We can shake hands and give hugs and stuff too which I've never been able to do before on my mission.

We went to Red Rocks park and amphitheater for P-day today! Our area is giant and we actually live pretty close to Red Rocks and my first area. When I got transferred from the Red Rocks area 6 months ago, I never thought I would go back there until after my mission. It was fun to show Sister Syme around and be back in a place I love so much!

Since I turned 20 this week and I will hit my year mark pretty soon, I've just been feeling like things are going by way too fast and I need to enjoy every moment I have as a missionary even more. It really is the best and this work makes me so happy!

Love, Sister Megan Young
