Surprise Referral!

Hello hello!

This week was pretty awesome! We found 3 new people to teach on Facebook and had a lot of success street contacting on campus at the Colorado School of Mines! It was a bummer when none of our new people showed up to church though :(

We went on exchanges this week and Sister Campa came to the Belleview area with me and Sister Rogers! We were supposed to have 5 lessons on the day of exchanges but all of them fell through except for 1 haha. While we were on exchanges though, we got a call from some missionaries in Canada saying they have a referral for us who wants a Book of Mormon ASAP and she wants to get baptized! That was on Saturday and we've been in contact with this girl Jasmine and so far she hasn't been available to meet us yet but we are hoping to meet her tonight. It sounds a little too good to be true but you never know!

I'm still loving the ward and my companions, Sister Hult and Sister Rogers! I really don't want to go home. We also have a fun district and we went mini golfing today! :)

That's about it for this week but next week will be crazy! My P-day is on Wednesday next week because we get to go to the temple!! So for anyone who actually reads my emails, don't freak out when you don't get one next Monday!

Love, Sister Young

I Love Being A Missionary:)

Hello everyone!

It was a pretty typical week this week but things are going great! I love my companions and my district and the area!

We went to Institute at the Colorado School of Mines this week and then walked around campus to talk to people and we had some good conversations with people. We also had a great lesson with Hadadi this week with one of our members and the Spirit was so strong! He is doing awesome and is coming to all our activities!

We also had exchanges this week with the sisters in the Highlands Ranch area. I went there with Sister Burrup and we had a great time and got lots of Facebook finding and street contacting time in!

Last night, we had a mission devotional over zoom and our zone was in charge of it. Each member of the zone memorized one scripture in Joseph Smith History up to the First Vision and then we all took turns reciting our verses in order. Then a few missionaries from the zone shared their testimonies of Joseph Smith and the Restoration and the Book of Mormon and it was so powerful! I love being a missionary soooooo much!

New Companions!

Hello everyone!

This week we had transfers and I'm staying here in the Belleview YSA ward!! Sister Syme got transferred to Littleton and I have 2 new companions: Sister Hult and Sister Rogers! Sister Hult and I came out together and actually sat next to each other on the plane from SLC to Denver and I've wanted to be companions with her ever since so I'm super excited! Sister Rogers is a brand new missionary so we're training her! We know some of the same people from back home so that has been fun!

This week we started teaching Hadadi again since he had been taking a break. We actually ended up having 4 lessons with him AND he came to church!!!!! He is so much fun to teach! We all have cool handshakes with him. He has a ton of friends in the ward now because he comes to a lot of the activities. He also told us that our ward feels like home to him which was so good to hear! Myah is still doing awesome and made some great comments in our Relief Society lesson yesterday!

On Saturday, our stake did a huge service project at a park cleaning up a bunch of branches by a creek, painting soccer goal posts, picking up trash, and laying down mulch. All the missionaries in our zone got to come!

Today we went to Red Rocks and I showed my new companions around. There's a concert there tonight so we got to watch them set up and test the sound which was really cool!

Myah's Baptism!!

Hello everyone!

This week was amazing and super busy! Our friend Myah got baptized and it was so cool because one of the recent converts in the ward got to baptize her! They had to do it 5 times though because her arm kept coming up but they finally did it right! Myah was so happy and it was just a great experience! She was confirmed in sacrament meeting yesterday which was awesome!

Last Monday night for our FHE activity, a speaker came to talk to us and it was super cool! He was in and out of prison throughout his young adult years but he decided he wanted to turn his life around. He told us the impact of the Book of Mormon in his life and his journey to where he is now. He was married in the temple and has 4 kids!

We had MLC in Avon again this week and then Combined District Council! We got to go to Highlands Ranch because all of our sisters are in that zone :)

We usually work out at a park right by our apartment complex every morning and we saw this girl named Juliana 3 days in a row and then the third day we saw her again that evening! She is from Colombia and trying to learn English so it was fun for Sister Syme and I to practice our Spanish with her and teach her some stuff in English. We got talking about what we do as missionaries and she asked us about the Book of Mormon so we told her about it! She agreed to meet with us again!

I also hit 15 months as a missionary which is wild! I really don't want to go home! I only have 2 transfers left and we have transfers this week. We will find out tomorrow what's going to happen! We also went bowling today as a district :)
