Finally Made It Out West!

Hi everyone!

This week I got transferred to the mountains and I'm in the Rifle 2nd ward! We cover the little towns of Silt and New Castle. I've served my entire mission in the metro area surrounding Denver and it's my first time out west and it's super different! A lot of people are ranchers and cowboys and we've seen lots of goats, cows, and horses. I'm in a trio again and my new companions are Sister DeMordaunt who's going home the transfer after me and then we're training a new missionary named Sister Mills! They are both awesome!

It was so sad to leave Sister Hult and Sister Rogers and the Belleview YSA ward!! I loved it there. And I was so sad to leave Seth who we were teaching :( Since it's my last transfer, I'll only be out here in Rifle for 6 weeks. The people are super awesome here and I wish I could stay longer to get to know them and the area better.

We helped some members build a fence and since we can't use power tools as missionaries, we couldn't use a drill for the nails so the member gave me an old-fashioned, hand-powered drill haha.

The bus ride out here was so beautiful and this area is so pretty!! The leaves are still yellow and there are mountains all around us. Also, the sunsets and sunrises are so pretty! Today we went on a hike as a district to Rifle arch which was really cool! We have a super fun district.

Yesterday there was a fireside for our ward about the Cokeville miracle. The cop that was there came to speak and it was amazing! It's also really weird to be at church and see little kids running around and to be in a family ward since I'm so used to the young adult ward haha.

Time is flying and I can't believe I'm on my last transfer!

I'm Starting My Last Transfer!

Hello everyone!

We have transfers on Thursday of this week and then I'll only have 6 weeks left of my mission! Ahhh! I really don't want to go home haha. We haven't gotten transfer news yet so I don't know if I'll stay in this area or move or get new companions.

This week was great for Seth! He came to a baptism of a convert in a nearby ward and he had a great experience! He also came to church and said he wanted to make it a regular thing :) He is making progress on living the word of wisdom as well!

We helped one of our members move to a new apartment this week but there weren't very many people there so it took us forever and we were super sore! We also did a service project with our district this week and cleaned up dead branches and trees by a lake.

On Saturday, our stake had a women's conference and we got to go for part of it! It was called "Our Walk With Christ" and it was amazing! The speakers were so good! They had us do a silent interview and ponder questions like "what is the hardest thing you have done with the Savior?", "what is your happiest memory with the Savior?", and "If Christ walked in the room right now, what would you say to Him?" It was so cool to think about my relationship with Christ and how it has grown on my mission.

Today we went bowling with our district and had lots of fun! 3 Elders in our district are going home this week!

Double Exchange

Hello everyone!

Not a ton has happened since I last wrote on Wednesday. We had 2 exchanges which was super fun! The first one was with Sister Wallin who used to be my companion! It was so fun to be with her again! We could just talk for hours haha. The other exchange was with Sister Harmon who is also awesome!

Seth is still doing great! A lot of our other people are starting to ghost us which is a bummer. We got a new ward mission leader and he's amazing! He's super excited about his new calling and sharing the gospel.

Today we had a zone activity! We played ultimate frisbee and soccer at a park and it was so much fun! We have a great zone :)

The leaves are so pretty right now and I've been loving the weather! That's about all for this week!

Temple Trip!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Our P-day was moved to Wednesday this week because we were scheduled to go to the temple today as a zone! It was the first time I've been to the temple in 19 months so it was incredible! Just such a great experience:)

Last week was super busy but I loved it! We had zone conference, MLC, and general conference! Brother Littlefield (the mission specialist guy) came to our mission again and spoke to us in zone conference and MLC and he gave us lots of good stuff to work on! Also, general conference was AMAZING and I loved every minute of it!

We've also been teaching someone named Seth and we put him on date for baptism and he committed to obey the word of wisdom! It's such a miracle that we found him! I just reached out to him on Facebook and started a natural conversation about a picture of a cute bunny in his profile and then brought up the gospel! We found out that he has many family members who are members of the church and he actually has multiple copies of the Book of Mormon in his house. He even found his great grandmother's scriptures that are full of notes and markings so it has been such a cool experience to watch him connect with his family and the gospel at the same time!

I hit my 16 month mark last week which is wild! I'm loving my mission and I don't want to come home!
