Happy Tuesday!

Hello everyone! Our P-day got moved to today because we had MLC yesterday.

Last Tuesday we had zone conference which went really well! President and Sister Rees talked about discipleship and then us and the zone leaders trained on goal setting, planning, and accountability.

We also had another exchange this week! I went to the Northridge area with Sister Allen and it was SO FUN! Probably one of my all time favorite exchanges:) Sister Allen is an amazing missionary and I learned so much from her, especially about listening to others, promising specific blessings, and following the Spirit. We also both found someone new to teach during the exchange AND the Saddle Ranch area got a self-referral which has never happened my whole time here. Miracles!!

I drove this time to MLC in Avon! It's always fun to see other missionaries there, especially some of my past companions (Sister Goldsberry and Sister Larsen)! It was a great meeting and we talked all about how we can improve as a mission.

Today we got pizza and went to the Denver temple to have a picnic and walk around the outside. It was so pretty with all the spring flowers blooming! It's definitely weird to have a P-day on a Tuesday but it has been fun.

God Is In The Details

Hello everyone!

It was a great week over here in Saddle Ranch and we definitely saw some miracles! Last Monday night we had 3 amazing member lessons. They all brought up friends that they want to share the gospel with. One family told us that their good friends, a less active family in the ward with 2 unbaptized children, is open to meeting with us! Apparently the 2 kids have talked to their member friends about wanting to get baptized and they just want to learn a little bit more about the church first. So, we stopped by their house and they are super nice! They didn't have time for a lesson right then and they went out of town this weekend but we are hoping to start working with them soon! Pray for the Prince family!

One evening, we went to pick up dinner from a member but they were late so we ended up getting a little delayed in our schedule. After we picked up dinner was when we went to visit the Prince family. As we were walking away from the Prince's house, there was a door to door sales guy named Harrison in the driveway. He is a returned missionary and got super excited when he saw us. Apparently, he had met a guy named Young Lim in the area doing his sales who had been taught by missionaries before. Harrison asked if we knew him which was crazy because Young Lim had called us just a few hours earlier to set up a lesson with us! We have been trying to get something set up with him for months so we were shocked when he called us out of the blue but we think it was probably because of Harrison talking to him and then he felt prompted to reach out to us. It was all just perfect timing for us to meet Harrison and him to meet Young.

We taught Young about the Plan of Salvation which he loved!! That same day we also had a Bible study with a lady named Jenna that we found on Facebook. She asked us a bunch of questions about what we do as missionaries and about the church so we taught her about the Restoration and the Book of Mormon and set up another lesson. Both Jenna and Young were able to watch the church broadcast yesterday! Jackson also came to church and met the bishop! Sister Ray and I did a musical number in church too which was fun :)

We also had exchanges this week and Sister Hardy came to Saddle Ranch with me. We had so much fun!!

Vaccinated!

Hello everyone!

After many weeks of waiting lists, we were finally able to get our first dose of the covid vaccine! We had to leave the mission boundaries and drive to Aurora, CO which was about 30 mins away. When we were getting close, I started to get nervous because it was in a sketchy part of town and smelled like weed. The building was super sketchy too and we had to go through a metal detector and stuff which was super weird but we got our shots so all is well! When we got back to Highlands Ranch, I was so grateful for the area I've been blessed to serve in. It's so beautiful and the people are so kind. I've been here for a while now so I think I've gotten used to it and have started to take it for granted but that time outside the mission made me really count my blessings :)

I had a little headache that evening and my arm was pretty sore the next few days but other than that, I didn't get any bad side effects.

We also went on exchanges this week and Sister Wangsgard came to the Saddle Ranch area with me! We realized that we went to rival high schools (Skyline and Olympus) and grew up pretty close to each other! It was weird though because we've been in the same zone for 3.5 transfers and we never figured that out before haha.

Our friend Jackson (who we had to pass off to the YSA missionaries a few weeks ago) showed up at our ward yesterday and said he feels more comfortable in a family ward. So he might get passed back off to us! He is still getting a few things worked out but has a strong desire to be baptized soon!

Other than that, our week wasn't super exciting, just the usual missionary stuff and lots of work on Facebook. I'm still doing great and just loving the area and Sister Ray!!

General Conference Weekend!

Hello everyone!!

It was such a great General Conference and Easter weekend! There were so many amazing talks! Some of my favorites were President Nelson's about faith, Elder Rasband's about miracles, and Elder Christofferson's about covenants and staying on the path. We got to watch together with our zone for the Sunday sessions and it was so powerful at the end when President Nelson announced 20 new temples and one of them was Grand Junction, Colorado which is part of our mission!! Everyone got so excited and then the closing hymn was "Let Us All Press On" which is like out mission's theme song. What a way to end conference and such a great day for the CDSM! I felt the Spirit so strongly and just felt so much joy! I haven't even served in that part of the mission but I was still just so happy :)

This week we also had MLC which had to be on zoom due to snow so it was a 6 hour zoom call. We also had combined district council and we trained our zone with the zone leaders on what we learned at MLC. We have a goal as a mission this month to eliminate all zeros from our key indicators which will be tough but we have the faith that we can do it with the Lord's help!! We worked super hard this week and were able to find someone on Facebook! We have also been refining our member work and have a few solid potentials that we could pick up soon.

In other news, we can now OYM (open your mouth) which is like street contacting. It's been over a year since our mission could do this so we're all trying to figure it out together since most of us have never done it before. Sister Ray and I have talked to a few people so far but it's definitely a work in progress haha.

Sister Ray and I hit 10 months this past week which is so crazy because we just barely hit 9 months. I know I say it a lot, but time is going by too fast! I'm doing great and loving my mission!!
